Saturday morning our family drove to Dallas to visit the Perot Museum. This new museum for science and history opened December 1st so we were looking forward to seeing everything for the first time. We took advantage of Bank of America's Museums on Us program so could go for free (if you are a BOA member you need to do this!). I also called ahead and knew that they tend to sell out (they limit how many people can go in at one time) so we planned our trip out carefully. The museum opens at 10 AM and we were there by 9:45 AM. We were lucky and able to get 10:30 AM entry tickets. By the time we left at noon the line was so crazy long that I doubt all of those people were able to get tickets for the same day. So if you go I'd suggest buying tickets online (except for if you are doing a BOA deal) or getting there way early. On to our adventure.....
After waiting around the lobby area for 45 minutes our first stop was to the children's exhibit on the lower level. We wanted Eva to have plenty of time to run around and get lots of wiggles out. Their kids area is so cute! I wish I had taken more photos of it but I was busy keeping up with my munchkin. They have a play market area, construction area, camp out/ woods area, and a water play area. Eva loved crawling and climbing and interacting with everything. How cute is my little construction worker? I wish there was a place we could visit nearby during the week that had stuff like this for her to do.
Then it was on to some of the other exhibits....did you know that it's pretty hard to read and thoroughly enjoy each part of a museum with a toddler? Don't get me wrong, we had a blast, but maybe I'd like to go back one day with just Ryan to stroll through and read more. Above: I got to do the interactive earth quake simulator (hence the frightening face) and Eva got to put her tiny hand inside a dinosaur fossil print. We also got to see exhibits on birds, sports, natural resources, the universe and some other interesting topics. (Ashley D. - they had a little bit of prairie info for us!) We had lots of fun and headed home with a worn out toddler. Success.
Weekend Flashback: Friday morning we ran out to get donuts and Eva got her first donut hole. She liked it :) Friday night we met my mom at On the Border for dinner. She happened to be in Denton where we went so we were lucky to get to eat with her. Eating with a toddler is much more fun with you have a grandma to help keep her entertained!
Sunday afternoon we went to our friend Brayden's 1st birthday party! Gotta love those cupcake smashing, pinata busting, bounce housing jumping good times!

So fun! I can't wait to take Mallory to the Perot Museum! It looks like yall had a great time!
