Sick Week

Last week we had a fabulous "Spring Break" full of doing fun things and going fun places. This week I've been sick since Monday and it has been exactly the opposite. Not a lot of fun and most of our time has been spent at home. We did make a Walmart run to get more medicine - woo hoo. Also, much like last week, I pretty much took a break form all cooking and cleaning. I think my house is now ready for some deep spring cleaning!

Did you know that it's really tough to be sick and be a mom of a toddler at the same time? Eva spends most of her day running around and playing. The photo above is the only picture I tried to take of her this week and you can tell by the blurriness that she wouldn't stand still! She is always on the go. And she wants me to be on the go right beside her. Since that wasn't much of an option for most of the week I tried to convince her that playing quietly can be fun too. We dragged lots of toys into the living room so she could play while I lied down on the couch. We read tons of books until I was hoarse. We watched more Dora the Explorer than I ever have in my entire life - I guess that's a show she actually likes. We counted down the hours until Ryan would get home and at the same time tried to enjoy a slow week of just the two of us. We stayed in our jammies and snuggled up under blankets. Ironically the doctor told me to try to keep her away from me so she wouldn't catch my virus - umm, how do you keep a one year old away from you when you are the only one home with her all day? Instead I just prayed that she wouldn't catch my germs, washed my hands fanatically, and went through a whole can of Lysol. So far, so good.
