Spring Break

What an awesome Spring Break week this has been! I've probably taken over 100 photos but I won't post them all here...instead I've tried to limit it to a collage (or two) for each day. Even though I don't have a job or school to take a "spring break" from, it is still good to have a week to step back, relax, and add it some extra fun. I did take a break from most of the cooking or cleaning that I usually do. Woo-hoo.

Monday:
Eva had her 18 month check up in the morning. The doctor said she is the smartest, most beautiful baby she'd ever seen. Okay, maybe she didn't put it like that, but we all know what "right on track" really means. Then Ryan worked during the day. It warmed up enough for Eva and I to go walk to see the ducks at the pond. She likes those ducks and it's good for a short outing.
Monday evening 2 of our former youth students (now college girls) came over. They offered to babysit Eva for a while so Ryan and I hit up Main Event for some arcade time. We had a left over game card from probably like a year ago. You should have seen how Ryan schooled those middle school boys at basketball. And then he beat me at Dance Dance Revolution and air hockey. #shame

After our mini-date we came back home and watched The Bachelor finale with Mollie and Sydney. I'm glad they are grown up enough to watch it with us now. It was so great to get to hang out with them. Love those girls so much! PS. I really thought Sean would pick Lindsey in the end, but I guess I was wrong.
Tuesday:
We met Aunt Amanda, Cousin Mallory, and Nana at the Safari Indoor Park in Plano. The little girls got to ride mechanical animals, go on a train, and play play play! Eva was a bit serious because she wasn't feeling so good after her shots the day before. The girls rode one of those mechanical merry go rounds and Eva's face was so stoic the entire ride. Hahaha...we did have a good time hanging out with our family.
Tuesday evening we had a triple date game night with some of our youth kids. We played Apples to Apples, Catch Phrase, and Spoons. Spoons came down to me versus Ryan. I won. I did not cheat, no matter what Ryan claims. We loved hanging out with this group!

I had no photos from Wednesday. Ryan worked and I'm not sure what we did but it must not have been interesting. I guess Wednesday was just a hump day between the fun.
Thurday:
Ryan took an extra day off from work. Hooray! We had such a sweet family day! We took Eva to play at Bear Creek Park in Keller and had a picnic. That night we had pizza at our favorite place (Joe's in Southlake) and then went to Hey Sugar in Roanoke for some icecream. Afterwards they had a cover band playing oldies so we sat and listened while Eva ran around with all the other kids. It was one of those special nights when you know that that's what being a family is all about. Laughing, singing, playing together.  Thursday was probably one of the best, most relaxing days we've gotten to have together in a long time.
Friday:
Friday started off with a trip to Super Target! Those bunny ears looked so cute on Eva but she wouldn't post for a good photo. I found a new bathing suit on the clearance rack that I thought was decent (as decent as a bathing suit can be) so I went ahead and got it. Then I got some girl time to meet up for lunch with my best friend, Erica. I didn't take a photo but I do love Erica. Friday evening we drove to Royse City. Ryan's family friend, Joyce, was in town so we wanted to get to spend time with her. All of the family went out to eat. Our girls loved running around the pond area outside of the restaurant. They pretty much love running around anywhere. I didn't get any photos with Joyce either...I guess I was too busy making sure Eva didn't fall in the pond. #goodmothering
Saturday:
Are you tired of reading about my awesome week yet???? Oh, well. I have more to tell.

Ryan played in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament at a local park. It was a fundraiser for a foundation that is in honor of a student from the local high school that was killed in a car accident last year. The story is sad but the aftermath of what has been done in this guy's name is awesome. You should look up Live Like Josh if you get a chance. Jesus is definitely proclaimed! The town dedicated a park bench in Josh's name.

Then my mom came and took Eva home to spend the night at my parent's so that Ryan and I could have a kid-free night. You just need one of those every so often, right? We grabbed some dinner and then spent most of the night walking around downtown Grapevine and having good conversation. Kind of like 2 people on a real date and not like 2 exhausted parents chasing down a toddler. It was good. On our way home we drove through the car wash. Going through a car wash is really relaxing, sort of like listening to a good thunderstorm on a lazy day.
Sunday:
Back to reality. I got to face time my mom and Eva after church today. How awesome is technology?! Ahhh, I miss her soooooo much! It's good to have a break but I love my little girl. I can't wait to go pick her up tonight!
