Proud Moments

This Sunday morning I woke up early, got ready for church and headed to.... Hawaiian Falls? I know what you are thinking. Kate. It's Sunday morning. Go to church! You blogged about the wonders of Hawaiian Falls last week. All of this is true, but the awesome thing is that this morning we had church at Hawaiian Falls! Not just a fun splash day, but a very special morning of baptisms.

Redeemer Church was blessed to get to go to the park before it opened for a time of worship, testimonies, and baptisms. We had 9 people from our church make the decision to get baptized, including 4 of our youth. I was so proud of them and their choice to publicly declare their faith. Baptism isn't what "makes them a Christian," but rather an act that allows them to proclaim their faith in Jesus Christ. They each stood up and shared why they decided to get baptized and hearing their sweet testimonies truly brought tears to my eyes. I appreciate that we live in a country where we can do public baptisms at a local water park without fear, knowing that many around the world do not have this blessing. I look forward to seeing this special group of students grow up and grow in their faith.
