Going Steady

"Going steady" is one of the great romantic enjoyments of young love. Dating when you're married is even sweeter. With out busy schedule and limited finances, we don't get to go out on many big dates, so I always appreciate the times we do get to go out. Sunday night we decided that we'd have a date night and go to dinner and a movie. The timeless classic.

Trying to make the most out of our big date, I even managed to dig through the closet and create an outfit that Ryan hadn't seen me wear 10 times in the past month. I even accessorized! I wanted to wear cute zebra print heals, but my little pregnant feet decided that flip flops were just as romantic.

I had just finished getting ready when my cell phone rang. It was Ryan, saying that he was calling from the guest bathroom and that someone was knocking at the door. Marital romance sure is hot! I went to open it, and guess who it was???? It was RYAN, at the door, ready to "pick me up for our date." What a sneaky, wonderful husband! He had even turned the bathroom on in the guest bath and closed the door so I'd really believe he was in there. I wish I'd taken a picture of how sweet he looked waiting for me at the door.
We started our night at Pei Wei. I've been loving rice - all kinds of rice - lately. And the best part of a Chinese meal is opening fortune cookies!!!!

Ryan's Fortune: Happier days are definitely ahead for you. (Awesome!)
My Fortune: Face any problem with dignity. (In light of my upcoming labor process I was less than excited to open that cookie.)

Oh well, a cookie is just a cookie. We did have a nice time eating out. I got crab wantons and fried rice. Ryan got chicken fried rice. We're so crazy.
36 weeks pregnant...or maybe way too many crab wantons. I'll let you decided :) Thanks to Eva for letting Mama borrow one of her cute flower bows (since she wasn't going to be wearing it that night).
0 weeks pregnant and only 1 crab wanton. Look at that studly physique. What a handsome man!
And the movie for the night was The Help. I'd been looking forward to seeing this. Since we no longer get a student discount at the movies, we have to really, really want to see a movie to go the the movie theater. Plus there are so many dumb movies out there that I don't care about at all. Thankfully, The Help did not disappoint. I love movies about the south and I loved the time period it was set in. Plus, the story line was so interesting and the movie was very well done. I guess you'd call it cinematography, but I really loved how the movie was shot- the colors, the camera angles, the costumes. I highly recommend this movie!

Our date night was extra special to me since I'm not sure how many more we'll get to go on before the baby arrives. At this point I just want to take advantage of our time together. I love you, Ryan!

  1. You look so adorable in that outfit! In a few years people will be asking if you and Eva are sisters, LOL.
