Dear Eva Kate,Today you are 3 months old! Oh, what a mess of joy you have been today. This morning you ate and spit up all over me. And then you laughed. You looked at your toes during most of our photo time until I put you on your changing table. And then you laughed. You cried when I tried to fix breakfast while you played with your floor gym until I picked you up. And then you laughed. What can I say? At least every day with you is filled with smiles and laughter!
It is so awesome to see your personality developing and to see how you are becoming more aware of the world around you. Often during the day you will "talk" back and forth with me. You love to be held and rocked. Sometimes I think about setting you down more, but I know a day will come when you don't need to be held so much, so I think about that and decide to hold you just a little bit longer.Your biggest accomplishment has been.... sleeping through the night!!!! Since the night after you turned 2 months old you have been sleeping through the night. Well, you have at least mostly been sleeping through the night. There have been a few hiccups but overall you are doing great. I can take no credit for this though because it wasn't anything I did. It just happened. You just slept all night one time and I guess you decided that you like it. And I do too :) We still swaddle you to sleep though we have just started to swaddle you with your arms out in the past few days. You like this just as much and it lets you chew on your fingers.
Outfit change!
Here is a typical day for you at 3 months:
8:00 AM Good Morning! You are awake and ready to eat. You are still nursing and feed for about 25 minutes. We play while I eat breakfast and do tummy time.
9:30 AM Morning Nap
10:15 AM More play time...sometimes we go for a walk during this time
11:00 AM Time to eat again
12:30 PM NAP
2:00 PM Awake and hungry! Eat again.
3:30 PM Shorter nap...just a little bit of beauty sleep
4:00 PM Play, play, play. I try to get you to do tummy time but you don't want to. We read. We talk about your toys. Exciting, wonderful baby things.
5:00 PM More food. Eat. Eat. Eat
5:30 PM Play with DADDY!!!!! Then hang out and do whatever plans we have for that night. We are usually on the go during this time.
8:00 PM Eat some more. Daddy usually gets to give you a bottle at this time.
8:30 PM Bath time. You love the tub.
9:00 PM Into your jammies and time to sleep
10:00 PM Late night snack - gotta eat one more time before bed
10:30 PM Goodnight.
Add it 10 - 15 diaper changes and a million kisses and that is a typical day for you, Eva.

Giggles!
Here is what else you've been up to:
* You like to hold onto our hands and stand up. You are awesome at putting weight down on your feet. You are also very good at holding your head and neck up when you do this.
*You LOVE to smile at Daddy. He must be the funny one.
* You like to look at the lights on the Christmas tree and are interested in the "snow" inside my gingerbread house snow globe.
* You occasionally grab a toy on your floor gym. Yesterday I saw you grab one and then put both hands on it. Woah. (Probably by chance)
* You do not like to be in the car. Your carrier is okay if you are in the stroller, but you don't want to be left alone in the backseat. This has made for some very loud car rides.
* No more newborn clothes. You fit just right into 0-3 months and some 3 month clothes.
* How much do you weigh? I'm not sure because we don't get a check up this month, but I'd guess around 12 pounds. I'm sure you've grown some in the past month but it doesn't seem like tons. Your mind is doing all the growing this month :)
* You will need to attend Pacifiers Anonymous one day. You are already so addicted to your "binky."
Mama, I'm done taking pictures now. Seriously.
love, Mama
